Paul Whitney and Liz Connell, having lived in southern Africa for 8 years, founded Ottawa-based the African Bronze Project after Zambian-Canadian and a longtime friend asked for their help in marketing their traditional African bark hive and delicious wild bee honey. African Bronze is a Fair Trade, certified B (Benefit) Corp that markets and sells traditional, organic forest honey and other products on behalf of 6000 independent beekeepers and their families in northwest Zambia. We sell delicious, organic and fair frade Gift Packs to schools and organizations for fundraising.  We will also talk to any group about sustainability, empowerment, traditional music, trade vs aid, development, poverty alleviation, education, microfinance, climate change, and environment… plus we know a broad range of other subtopics pertaining to sub-Saharan Africa.

"It has been a pleasure to work with The Bronze Honey Project as the first school involved. We have been able to see firsthand through this project how one can make a positive difference in the lives of many simply by having the courage and commitment to act upon a good idea. The African Bronze Honey Project is much more than a good idea!"

-Daryl Kelly, Principal, Principal, Stewart School, Perth, ON

"I would very highly recommend doing a fundraiser with African Bronze Honey. I've now done two campaigns for different organizations. The products are easy to sell and truly are value-added for your wlt_fielders. The kids learned a lot about the product, development and how a small group can make a big difference. Paul and his staff were amazing at every step of the way! He was able to deliver the product in a super-timely way and responded to our concerns immediately, even in the evenings and weekends. It's an extremely trustworthy and ethical organization that I'm very happy to support. It makes me very happy that we're selling things that are useful, ethical, sustainable and fairly traded."

-Rachel Collishaw, Girl Guides of Canada

"Our business does not exist to ‘do some good’. Our business exists ‘because we do some good.’ "

-Paul Whitney, Managing Director, African Bronze Honey Project
