We Nurture Fertile Minds and Strengthen their Foundation for a Healthier Future

curious lambGet back to nature and come to the country.  We’ll wonder while we wander on our 50-acre fruit and vegetable farm exploring farming, food, rural life and nature.  Tours are available May to December. Enthusiastic instructors engage the children’s natural curiosity with the aim to strengthen their science and literacy skills using a mix of songs, hands-on, age-appropriate, interactive activities.  We emphasize learning through doing. We have a variety of farm and outdoor experiences for you to choose from to best fit your students needs.  All activities are adapted to the children’s age and comprehension level. Students can have the opportunity to participate in our Giving Garden – be it planting, tending or harvesting thus strengthening their foundation of generosity and community service. Teachers have enjoyed the balance of learning and fun that makes this outdoor farm experience memorable and relevant to their classroom objectives. Take home classroom materials we provide reinforce what the children have learned on the farm and helps finish the day’s program.  Learning also carries over into their home life when they take home the strawberry plants they’ve planted or the fruits and vegetables they’ve picked in our fields. Our tours are structured to meet the requirements of the Ontario curriculum for Science and Technology, Language, Social Science and Health and Physical Education.
