Hewitts Fun Farm Pumpkin Fall Tours Available September 15 to October 30, 2015 Children will learn to identify different types  pumpkins. Children will enjoy a stop by the pumpkin patch where they are told how pumpkins grow, and each child will take home a mini pumpkin, colouring booklet and lots of good memories. Please note the only students receive take home products.  Each class takes home a class pumpkin.

Each tour includes the Farm Pumpkin Program for their grade level and then each teacher will select one other educational program. The educational tour is 60 minutes and each additional program can be added to your stay for an extra $3.00 per program.

Junior and Senior Kindergarten and Grade One • Teacher selects one of our farm friendly programs which includes: a) Discover what insects have in common (puppet show) c)The body parts and life of a bee and its importance (puppet show) d)Reinforce sorting and comparing shapes and colours in our fun                                                                                                                     e)Spookley the Square Pumpkin Anti Bullying Campaign • Tour our farm animal corral to learn about classifying living things • Wagon ride out to the pumpkin patch • Each student will take home a farm grown pumpkin • Play in our fun farm play yard • Students are invited to bring their own snack and drink to the farm Cost $6.00 (plus HST) per student. For every 5 kids, 1 adult is admitted free to the farm. Grades Two and Three • Take a wagon ride out to the pumpkin patch to pick a pumpkin to take home (observe and describe how the growth of plants is affected by changes in the environmental conditions) • Teacher will select one of the following programs: a) Classify plants according to visible characteristics (different types of gourds and squashes, etc) b)Navigate your way through our corn maze. c)Farm Pumpkin Program d)Farmers Feed the Cities Rural vs Urban differences                                                                                                                                           e)weather and erision program                                                                                                                                                                                  f)Spookley Square Pumpkin Anti-bullying campaign • Each student will take home a farm grown pumpkin • Play in our fun farm play yard • Students are invited to bring their own snack and drink to the farm Cost $6.00 (plus HST) per student.
