Karen Patkau Children's Book Author and Illustrator Curriculum Connections: The Environment, Life Systems, Social Justice, Inclusiveness, Language, Math, Counting and Visual Art
Karen Patkau (pronounced “PAT-co”) shares two passions in her presentations. One is her love of nature. The other is the art of the picture book. Karen aims to educate and entertain, as well as to give children and teachers insight into the creative process. Karen has many years of experience in presenting to children and would love to come to your school, library or activity centre. Her rate is $275 plus HST per session. Each session lasts 45 to 60 minutes. She is available in the GTA and will drive up to 150 kilometers from Toronto. Travel expenses to and from destinations outside of Toronto are 42 cents per kilometer. Karen is a member of The Writers' Union of Canada, so schools wishing to invite her may be eligible for a travel and fee subsidy to offset the cost of her visit.
