Strengthening their Foundation for a Healthier Future
Get outside – Embrace nature! Come visit our farm!
Relax and enjoy time outdoors here on our 50 acre working fruit and vegetable farm. Connect with your students in new and creative ways as they experience their connection to the natural world around them.
Re-energize as our knowledgeable instructors engage you and your children on a fully guided tour. We emphasize learning through doing.
The diversity of learning opportunities that being outdoors offers can be found here on our farm. Our programs have a mix of activities that are adapted to your children’s age and comprehension level with the aim of strengthening their science and literacy skills.
We can explore concepts such as rural vs urban living, farming and food production, animal and plant life, storytelling and the natural world.
Students may also participate in our Giving Garden – be it planting, tending or harvesting. This is a special opportunity for them to strengthen their foundation of generosity and experience community service.
Learning continues back in the classroom with the take home materials we provide. These materials reinforce what the children have learned on the farm and can carry over into their homelife with the strawberry plants they’ve planted or the fruits and vegetables they’ve picked in our fields.
Teachers have enjoyed the balance of learning and fun that makes this outdoor farm experience memorable and relevant to their classroom objectives.
Our tours are structured to meet the requirements of the Ontario curriculum for Science and Technology, Language, Social Science and Health and Physical Education.
