Little Ray’s Reptile Zoo has been presenting in classrooms since 1995. Little Ray’s Reptile Zoo has BRAND NEW curriculum-based programs written to comply with Ontario school curriculums. While fun, entertaining and very educational, these programs help to strengthen the lessons taught in class through an interactive, hands on approach to eco-education. Our wildlife educators will take your class on a trip around the world, showing animals from around the globe and even those found right in our own backyards. Expect to see 8-10 animals including snakes, lizards, turtles, tortoises, amphibians, bugs and a crocodilian. As always presentations can be catered to your classes individual needs and lesson plans, and can be done in English or French. COSTS for Outreach: $195 + HST Each additional SHOW $120 + HST
ELEMENTARY
Kindergarten: General Animal presentation/ Pond Study Grade 1: Needs & Characteristics of Living Things Grade 2: Growth & Changes in Animals Grade 4: Habitats Grade 6: Biodiversity Grade 7: Ecosystems Presentations are 1 hour in length at a cost of $195+HST. Additional presentations on the same day can be added for $120+HST each as long as there is not more than an hour break between presentations. SECONDARY
Our wildlife educators will take you on a trip around the world, showing animals from around the globe and even those found right in our backyard. Except to see 8-10 animals including snakes, lizards, turtles, tortoises, amphibians, bugs, and a crocodilian. Because of the higher educational component to our Secondary grade presentations, we also include at least one mammal and at least one bird. As always, these presentations can be catered to your classes individual needs and lesson plans, and can be done in both English or French. Grade 9: Ecosystems & Sustainability Grade 10: Systems of Living Things Grade 11: Diversity of Living Things Grade 12: Evolution
French or bilingual presentations are available for all grade levels.
Little Ray’s Junior Zoo Keeper Camp
Exciting PD Day & Holiday Camps
This school year we are expanding our PD Day Junior Herpetologist Camp to include field trips to other zoos as well as in Zoo Camps! Junior Herpetologist PD day Camps are a fun and educational opportunity that gives kids aged 7-15 a unique experience. Through fun interactive activities and field trips campers will learn about the world around them.
Credentials
Little Rays Reptile Zoo is accredited by CAZA/AZAC (Canada’s Accredited Zoos and Aquariums) and is the largest reptile rescue in Canada (we do not take animals from the wild). We are partners with the SPCA, municipal, provincial and federal authorities for the placement of unwanted/seized animals, and we are a part of endangered species breeding and release programs within Canada. We strive to educate the public on the conservation of wildlife through informative, interactive and fun hands-on presentations
