Our Methodology

From birth to age 6, children need to be engaged in daily active play.  Through play and movement, they develop the fundamental movement skills that will provide the foundation for learning fundamental sports skills at older ages. Children at this age need to develop the ABCs of movement – Agility, Balance, Coordination and Speed.  Monkeynastix strives to develop confidence and a positive self-image in a fun and challenging environment.Children in the FUNdamental stage are motivated primarily by the desire to have FUN! These six to 12 year olds are far less concerned with competitive results than they are with having fun, being with friends and developing a strong self-esteem. At Monkeynastix, your students will actively engage in non-competitive gross motor circuits and drills that contribute to the development of fundamental movement skills. Classes begin with a warm-up including stretching, positions, fine motor activities, and locomotion. Our action packed lessons end with sport development, changing weekly. We offer a progressive curriculum that gives students the opportunity to grow and excel with each new term.

Monkeynastix – Preschool & JK/SK

While working on building the fundamental movement skills, your students will develop remarkable self image and self confidence through the individual success they achieve in our program. Lessons incorporate specialized equipment and offer more challenging activities.

MonkeySPORT – FUNdamentals (Grade 1 & 2) & Learn to Train (Grade 3 & 4)

Not sure which sports your students will enjoy? Get them in shape and sport ready with MonkeySPORT, a fun new Monkeynastix program! Our 6-8 year old members will begin refining their fundamental movement skills by introducing them to the fundamental sport skills (i.e. kicking, catching, throwing, jumping, etc). While our 9-12 year old members will be working on refining the fundamental sport skills. Each class includes stretching, cardio, strength and a focus on one fundamental sports skill. Children practice their fundamental skills in well-structured drills and games with minimal focus on competition.

“Monkeynastix currently offers an engaging and interactive program at each of our three childcare locations through the GTA. They offer a great program once a week to each of our programs - even infants and toddlers! The coaches are able to modify their program to suit the needs of each child so that everyone in attendance can participate in Monkeynastix.

Management has always been courteous and professional to deal with. The coaches are dependable and reliable with the schedule at each location, and if there is a change for whatever reason, we are notified in advance.

We plan to continue offering Monkeynastix as a way to enhance our program, and look forward to having them bring these experiences to our new facilities expected to open in 2014!”

“Monkeynastix is a fun and interactive program for children. It challenges them to not only use their physical skills, but their problem solving and social skills as well. Registration for this after-school offering is overwhelming and you can see why — the children throughly enjoy themselves as you can see on their smiling, happy faces when they get ready to go into the gym each week.”
